This Morning's Alison Hammond has been mispronouncing "Trick or Treat" her whole life

From Digital Spy

This Morning presenter Alison Hammond made a hilarious blunder while preparing for a Halloween segment on Wednesday's show (September 30).

Alison, who was dressed up as a witch, was preparing to give viewers some 'haunting Halloween ideas' as October approaches.

But when hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby went to speak to her, they noticed that instead of saying "Trick or Treat", Alison was saying, "Treacle Treat".

Picking up on her blunder, Phil asked her: "Treacle Treat? What's a Treacle Treat?"

"Is it not Treacle Treat?" Alison answered, to which Phil answered: "It's not treacle – it's Trick or Treat!"

Alison was completely shocked that she'd been saying it wrong all these years, adding: "No way. Are you serious? I thought it was Treacle Treat. I'm 45 years old and I never knew that."

Phil then asked Alison if she used to go round to people's houses with treacle, after which Alison admitted she actually never celebrated Halloween.

"You're the perfect person to do this item – great," Holly then joked.

Still confused, Alison then asked what the 'trick' was, with Holly then explaining that if you don't hand out sweets, people might "throw eggs at your house or something".

Earlier this month, it was announced that Alison and fellow This Morning presenter Josie Gibson had landed a new segment on the show.

Titled Travel Top Trumps, it sees the pair hitting the road in the UK in an attempt to outdo each other as they search for the quirkiest and most exciting locations to stay.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
