This Morning's Alison Hammond has opened up about the presenters' relationships behind the scenes.
In an interview with The Sun, Alison explained that only Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are close friends off camera, while the rest of the morning show team go about their separate lives once they finish work.
"We're not on top of each other, do you know what I mean?" said the presenter. "Phillip and Holly, they go on holiday together. They genuinely love each other, in a brother and sister way.
"But literally when we finish everyone wants to go home to their families and see them. We've got it just right I think. But no they all go and do their own thing."
Her comments come after fellow presenter Ruth Langsford denied having a dig at Alison and the manner in which she landed her job on the show.
In an interview with the Sunday Mirror, Ruth opened up about her and her husband Eamonn Holmes' long careers, saying: "We've put the work in. We didn't do a reality show and get an overnight job on the telly.
"We've come up through the ranks. Eamonn was only 19 when he started out. And he was doing the teatime news in Belfast during The Troubles. It was heavy stuff. And he's now got an OBE for services to broadcasting."
Some considered her comments to be a deliberate swipe at Alison, who first found fame when she took part in Big Brother back in 2002.
However, a statement from Ruth's spokesperson clarified: "The comments from Ruth were made as a general observation in an interview conducted more than six weeks ago, about the industry and different routes into the business.
"Ruth was simply illustrating a point that whereas some presenters launch their careers by being on other TV programmes first, her and Eamonn's experience and career paths had taken a different and more traditional path.
"This wasn't directed at anyone in particular – indeed she has always been supportive of a number of her professional colleagues and friends who have taken this route."
This Morning airs on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
