This Morning favourite Alison Hammond was finally granted permission to re-enter the studio for today's (July 6) show.

After 15 weeks of filming on the road due to coronavirus regulations, Alison was welcomed back to the studio today for a cocktail-making segment, and it made for a very entertaining reunion between Alison and This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

"For the first time in 15 weeks, we're finally allowed a guest in the studio so we invited the best, most entertaining woman we know," Holly explained.

Walking into shot with a rainbow-coloured social distancing hat on, Alison declared: "I'm here guys. Keep your distance babes!"

Frustrated over not being able to embrace her friend and colleague, Holly said: "Alison, this is really hard because you give the best hugs. Every instinct in my body is just wanting to give you a hug. I can't believe you're here."

Alison then updated the hosting duo on what she's been up to during lockdown.

"I've been really good guys, I've got my hair done," Alison explained.

"I wasn't desperate. I actually enjoyed doing my own hair. It's so weird coming into the studio and seeing you guys."

Phil was also happy to welcome Alison back to the set, as he stressed: "It's just been us and we haven't been able to hug each other!"

But Alison had the best idea in response, as she suggested: "We're going to have to really make a thing of when we can actually hug each other.

"That would be a show in itself, just do a hugging show."

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV.
