This Morning's Dr Scott Miller has revealed he has been hospitalised for severe pain.

The ITV1 morning show's resident veterinary consultant has been sharing updates throughout the week after he was rushed to hospital.

Initially, he wrote to fans on Instagram: "Currently I’m in a lot of pain and have spent the night in AandE. The staff have been amazing, so attentive and kind as I received pain medication, examinations and soon an MRI for the worst back pain I’ve ever experienced in my life.

"This is not a pity party or a sympathy request, rather a grateful post for the kindness and humanity I’ve witnessed and experienced since my admission to hospital."

Dr Scott wrote that it was not lost on him that the country was going through a period of turmoil, adding that he hoped support of the NHS could unite everyone.

Later in the week, Dr Scott explained to his Instagram followers that he'd received a firm diagnosis for his back pain.

"Thank you so much for all your messages of love and support for both myself and the wonderful @nhsengland so I thought I’d give you an update," he wrote.

"After an MRI I have two disc bulges hence the intense pain and inability to walk, but it is non-surgical which is in fact good news. So I have a road of recovery ahead of me without scalpels which is a relief, but the hard work is to come.

"Physiotherapists are amazing people and Veterinary physios are amazing in supporting us and our patients to respond after trauma and surgery to regain health and mobility."
