This Morning's Holly Willoughby has missed out on a second day of the daytime TV show, this time replaced by Davina McCall.

Yesterday (November 18), the presenter was notably absent, with Alison Hammond stepping in to co-present with Phillip Schofield.

On today's episode, Phil explained that Holly was having another day off and would return to the show on Monday, with Davina stepping in to help him this time around.

Alison's addition yesterday came amid tabloid speculation that she will be taking on a more regular role alongside Dermot O'Leary – although This Morning has said no new additions to the presenting line-up have been announced yet.

"We have a stellar presenting lineup on This Morning in Holly & Phillip and Eamonn & Ruth," a This Morning representative said in a comment to Digital Spy.

"Any additions to this lineup will be announced in due course."

In other This Morning news, the show will join fellow ITV shows Lorraine and Good Morning Britain in airing on Christmas Day for a special episode.

Phil and Holly will take to the airwaves on December 25 with a show "packed full of heart-warming surprises, special guests, and favourite familiar faces".

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
