Sian Welby has confirmed she'll be making an exit from This Morning, with the popular star taking a step back from her role as the show's entertainment presenter, after some viewers argued she should have been given one of the main hosting jobs. And her replacement has already been confirmed as a former I'm A Celebrity finalist and Saturday Night Takeaway star.

Having served as a breakfast presenter on Capital Radio for years, Sian got some time in the ITV spotlight at the end of last year, when she was recruited to the This Morning team as an entertainment anchor and the daytime programme's I'm A Celebrity correspondent, before then being given the chance to step up and actually host the whole show.

As she was paired with Dermot O'Leary, one half of the show's Friday hosting duo, many viewers were instantly impressed by Sian, describing her as 'breath of air' and pushing for her to be regarded as a contender for one of the vacant main presenter roles, as speculation mounted that bosses had decided on Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.

And, after Ben and Cat were eventually officially confirmed to have landed the roles earlier this year, some fans of Sian argued she'd been 'overlooked,' with one taking to X to write: "Sian Welby is such a talented presenter who brought fun back to the show. Perfect for This Morning! Was really hoping it would be her."

Sian, who is expecting her first child, was back on This Morning on Monday, she she was joined on the sofa by her replacement, recently announced Capital Breakfast host Jordan North, who has ITV guest presenting experience on Saturday Night Takeaway, after finishing second on I'm A Celebrity in 2020.
