An incident on the Arriva X18 bus in Morpeth has seen a 29-year-old woman arrested by Northumbria Police officers.

Police received a report of a disturbance at Widdrington Station, involving four people.

Two police vehicles attended, and just after 11am today, a woman was arrested and she now remains in police custody.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Just after 11am today (Friday) we received a report of a disturbance involving four people on the Arriva X18 bus, at Widdrington Station in Morpeth.

"Officers attended the scene and a woman, aged 29, was arrested for failing to appear. She is currently in police custody."
