This comes as other supermarkets such as Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda have also reduced the price of Baileys to just £10. The creamy liquor-based drink is a popular choice during the holiday season, but a one-litre bottle can cost over £15 if not purchased on offer.
However, to make these savings, you will need to hold each of the respective stores’ loyalty cards. For instance, without a Tesco Clubcard, the liquor would cost £22 instead of £10.
Typically, £10 is the lowest price most supermarkets will reduce the booze to - however, prices and deals can fluctuate daily. Costco is currently selling one-litre bottles of the Irish drink for £9.99.
Baileys Irish Cream is a popular liqueur made from a blend of Irish whiskey and cream. Baileys was created in 1974 by the Irish company Gilbeys of Ireland, a division of International Distillers & Vintners (IDV). The product was developed as a way to market Irish dairy products and whiskey in a novel form.
The idea was conceived by David Gluckman and Hugh Seymour-Davies, who experimented with blending Irish whiskey and cream. To create a shelf-stable product, they collaborated with a team of food scientists, achieving the perfect balance between whiskey and cream.
