Most googled people in the world: Caitlyn Jenner, Kevin Hart and James Charles top 2019 list
Google has released its Year in Search report - revealing which celebrities were searched for the most in 2019.
With names including Keanu Reeves, Billie Eilish, Rami Malek and Brie Larson topping the list, their breakdown of the most searched for people features a number of names who have had a big year - or a very controversial one.
The search platform released a number of different categories to its top tens. For actors, Empire's Jussie Smollett was top of the list. Smollett, who was previously a lesser known figure, shot to the top of Google search following controversies surrounding an alleged attack in Chicago.
Following Smollett, comedian Kevin Hart came in second place after his string of movies and a near fatal car accident made headlines.
The Joker’s Joaquin Phoenix came next, followed closely by the ‘internet’s boyfriend’ Keanu Reeves.
There were fewer women on the list this year though Lori Loughlin came into fifth place. The Hallmark star Lori Loughlin became embroiled in the Operation Varsity Blues scandal. Lauren London, the girlfriend of the late Nipsey Hussle, was sixth followed by Rami Malek, Japanese actor Erika Sawajiri, Brie Larson and Hirofumi Arai.
