'Most kind and thoughtful' young man killed in road tragedy

The family of a much-loved Birmingham man who died in a crash have paid tribute to the "most kind and thoughtful person you could ever meet". Police were called to the crash in Sutton Road, Mile Oak, near Tamworth, at around 6.40am on Wednesday, January 8.

The collision involved a silver Ford Fiesta and a white BMW coupe, police said. Sadly, the driver of the Ford, 20-year-old Keaton Lacey, from Sutton Coldfield, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the BMW, a 27-year-old man, was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution. Mr Lacey's family paid tribute to him.

In a joint statement, they said: “Keaton was the most kind and thoughtful person you could ever meet. He lived each day to the fullest and through this has created many memories with many people. We were so proud of him and loved him dearly.

“Keaton was loved by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him and he has left a hole in many people’s lives. We, his family, are devastated at his loss and there are no words that could ever encompass the pain we are all feeling.

“We will never be able to fill the hole he has left in our lives. We will forever be waiting for him to come home and make our family whole again.”
