10. Dancing On Ice
Dancing on Ice was a big talking point this year, largely down to Gemma Collins who brought the drama to the rink. There was consistent simmering tension between herself and Jason Gardiner, who is not returning to the show in 2020, and they even exchanged cross words on the live show. Tommy Shelby was back in action in Peaky Blinders, but as the show explored his mental health viewers saw a darker side to the crime boss and MP. 7. Neighbours
Neighbours was rocked by a massive plot twist this year as the real Dee Bliss returned from the dead to the shock and delight of fans only to find out she had an evil twin in the form of Andrea Somers. His relationship with Stuart Highway kept viewers gripped alongside the other Mitchell drama of Sharon's shock pregnancy by toyboy lover Keanu Taylor. Long-running soap Coronation Street kept fans gripped this year as a new villain emerged on the cobbles after months of mystery. 4. Game of Thrones
After eight series, TV titan Game of Thrones came to an end earlier this year with its final six episodes that generated huge amounts of conversation. Some of the plot developments caused outrage among devoted viewers, not to mention the infamous coffee cup gaffe that set the internet ablaze when an eagle-eyed fan spotted it. It also got off to a rocky start, as Jamie Laing wasn't able to compete due to an injury in rehearsals meanwhile Will Bayley was later hit by a bout of misfortune as he hurt his leg and had to withdraw. 1. Love Island
A new crop of polished and preened men and women entered the Love Island villa this summer for a series which was full of the usual ups and downs. Poor Amy Hart had her hopes dashed when Curtis Pritchard's feelings toward her waned, while Amber Gill went on to a sensational win after having her heartbroken by Michael Griffiths. This year also came with the news the programme would be getting a winter instalment, set to begin in the New Year, as well as the regular summer instalment.
