Mother Bear and Cub Raid Fully Stocked Krispy Kreme Delivery Van in Alaska
The delivery driver was making a stop at a convenience store in Anchorage on Sept. 12 when the bears entered the van and ate over 20 packages of sweets
Two lucky and hungry bears in Alaska happened upon a stocked Krispy Kreme van and took full advantage of the find.
On Sept. 12, a mother bear and her cub raided a Krispy Kreme van after finding the vehicle with its doors open at the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, a military facility in Anchorage, according to the Associated Press.
The outlet reported that animals discovered the donut-packed vehicle while the van's driver, who was on their delivery route, was inside a convenience store. The Krispy Kreme van was parked outside with its doors open while the driver quickly stopped.
The driver's brief visit to the store gave the bears enough time to get inside the van and wreak delicious havoc on its contents. The animals reportedly gobbled up packages of donut holes and pastries while the van driver tried to spook the bears out of the vehicle by banging on the outside of the van.
PEOPLE has contacted Krispy Kreme for comment on the bear break-in.
"UnBEARlievable Krispy Kreme ALASKA Moment!" Krispy Kreme Alaska wrote on its Facebook page, alongsideaf photo of the bears snacking on sweets in the van. "This morning, our Krispy Kreme Alaska Delivery van had some unexpected visitors – a family of black bears couldn't resist the sweet temptation of Krispy Kreme Donuts!"

"One of our brave delivery drivers managed to capture this incredible moment on camera. It's a reminder that our donuts are loved by everyone, even the wildlife!" the post added. "At Krispy Kreme Alaska, we're all about spreading joy and sweetness. Have you ever seen anything as cute as these donut-loving bears?"
According to USA Today, Candice Sargeant, the general manager of the Krispy Kreme store that was making the deliveries, revealed that the driver of the ransacked van discovered the bears in the van after returning from the store and went to work trying to remove the animals safely.
“You could hear them breaking open the packages,” store manager Shelly Deano told Alaska News Source. “We were trying to beat on the van, but they just kept eating all the doughnuts. They ate 20 packages of the doughnut holes and, I believe, six packages of the three-pack chocolate doughnuts.”
The bears left the van when base security used sirens to scare them away. After leaving the van and wandering in front of the convenience store, the bears returned to the woods, according to AP.
