Two people have been charged after a one-year-old baby girl was filmed as she smoked marijuana.

Allan Maldonado, 18, and the baby’s mother, 20-year-old Brianna Ashanti Lofton, both from Raleigh, North Carolina, are accused of helping the innocent baby smoke the joint.

The shocking clip, that shows the hand of an adult holding the joint to the girl’s lips before she inhales and lets out a puff of smoke, sparked outrage after it was viewed millions of times on social media last week.

Lofton was arrested last week and charged with child abuse and marijuana possession, while Maldonado has now been charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and marijuana possession.

Maldonado has since asked for a DNA test to prove that the child is not his.

The pair were both charged with assaulting each other in August 2017 and authorities now believe the pair forced the child to smoke marijuana multiple times over a two-month period.

Police were alerted to the video by Facebook users after the clip went viral.

The baby has since been placed into child protective services and and Lofton and Maldonado have been ordered to have no contact with the girl.
