Motherwell takeaway shop voted Scotland's best due to its XXXL kebab
A Motherwell takeaway has just been named Scotland's 'Best Kebab House'.
The award-winning Polski Kebab, in Motherwell, has gone viral more than a few times thanks to its massive XXXL kebab, which they say is 'Scotland's biggest' and their hard work has paid off after they picked up the top award at the recently announced SPICE Awards in Glasgow.
The delighted team, led by Owner Rafal Cymerman, collected the award for their much-loved eatery on Rose Street in the Lanarkshire town.
The popular spot is famed for its massive XXXL kebab, which one YouTube reviewer even described as the "Noah's Ark of kebabs".
Rafal explained that he came up with the idea for the XXXL 16 years ago in Warsaw and has since brought his creation to life after opening the award-winning takeaway in Scotland eight years ago.
Speaking to Glasgow Live about winning the prestigious award at Scotland's 'Curry Oscars', Rafal said: "We still can't believe it, we didn't think we would win, we beat two incredible spots in Glasgow, Hajars and Shawarma King too.
"I am delighted that people think we are the best around and everyone loves our kebabs. I was crying when I went to receive the award because I work hard every day to achieve these results."

Rafal and his team told us recently how they knew they were on to a winner with their signature option, the XXXL, but were surprised by just how popular it's become, he said: "People from all over Scotland come to us every day, even from England, we've even had famous Youtubers like Wrap God, Kalani Ghost Hunter, Food Review Club and Rate My Takeaway making the journey.
"Our kebab is distinguished primarily by the quality of meat and careful preparation, we buy the meat ourselves from a top butcher, the meat is of very high quality, then we marinate the meat and have our own spices - a kebab mixture consisting of 49 spices. It takes a lot of work and care, I put all my heart into it to make our kebab so tasty."
