Mothpocalypse! Heavy rains after unusually dry year brings out horrific influx of insects

Arizona has been hit with a mothpocalypse after the desert finally got rains after a long dry spell. In 2020, Arizona experienced one of the driest monsoon seasons in recorded history. The arrival of heavy rains in the monsoon season of 2021 demonstrates the way the desert bounces back after an intense drought. Wildlife, including insects and plants are suddenly abundant and sometimes, as seen in this video, downright apocalyptic. The Mothpocalypse of 2021 was filmed during an off-road adventure in Pinal County, Arizona, on 29 August.
