Motorcade Carries Remains of Marine Killed in Kabul to Arlington

A motorcade transporting the remains of Marine Sgt Nicole Gee, who was killed in an airport bombing in Kabul, passed through Virginia on September 27 en route to a funeral home in Arlington.

Gee was one of the 13 US servicemembers who died in the attack on Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport on August 26, along with over 160 Afghan civilians.

Just days before the attack, she had posted a picture of herself cradling a baby in Kabul to Instagram, with the caption “I love my job.”
