Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after serious crash near Newquay Airport

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital following a serious crash in Cornwall this afternoon (Friday, May 31). Emergency services were called to Hurling Way in St Columb at around 1.20pm.

Police said the crash, which took place near Cornwall Newquay Airport, involved a van and a motorbike. The rider of the motorbike was seriously injured and has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were notified by the ambulance service at around 1.20pm on Friday 31 May of a collision involving van and motorcycle on Hurling Way, St Columb.

"A road closure was put in place. The rider of the motorcycle has been airlifted to Derriford Hospital by Cornwall Air Ambulance with what are believed to be serious injuries."
