A motorcyclist has died after a collision in Arnold attended by police officers and an air ambulance. Nottinghamshire Police said emergency services were called to Calverton Road at 6.53pm on Monday (July 8) and that the rider, a man believed to be in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

Police said nobody else was hurt and that the road was closed between Surgeys Lane and Church Lane while investigation work takes place. An air ambulance was seen landing on the Church Lane Recreation Ground whilst attending the incident.

Sergeant Mark Baker, of Nottinghamshire Police's roads policing and serious collision investigation unit, said: "This is a tragic incident and we are currently working to understand exactly what happened. We have already spoken to a number of witnesses but would also like to hear from anyone else who saw what happened.

"We particularly want to hear from anybody who may have dashcam footage of the bike involved in the moments leading up to this collision." Anyone with information is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 620 of 8 July 2024.
