Motorcyclist left with serious injuries after crash that closed Rochester road

A motorcyclist is in hospital with serious injuries after a crash in Rochester in the early hours of today (Monday). The B2097 Maidstone Road was closed in both directions following the accident involving a car at just before 2am and reopened several hours later.

The collision was near the junction of the road with The Tideway. The road was shut between The Tideway and Stony Lane.

A Kent Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.58am on Monday (June 17) to a collision involving a car and a motorcycle in Maidstone Road, Rochester near the junction with The Tideway."

"Officers and paramedics attended the scene where the motorcyclist was treated for injuries described as serious. He was taken to a London hospital for further medical attention." KentLive has contacted South East Coast Ambulance Service.
