An air ambulance landed in London’s Trafalgar Square after a motorcyclist was injured during a crash with a lorry.

Dramatic footage shared on social media showed the helicopter land in the centre of the iconic landmark, outside the National Gallery, on Wednesday.

Police and paramedics rushed to nearby Northumberland Road just after 2pm to reports that a lorry had hit a motorcyclist.

The man, whose age is currently unknown, was rushed to a major trauma centre with a leg injury, a spokesman for London Ambulance Service said.
