Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crash on A68 in Northumberland

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A68.

Police and paramedics were called to the A68 at Stocksfield at around 11am on Wednesday following reports of a crash. The road was closed southbound from the A695 to A69 (Styford Roundabout).

The road was closed for around two hours while emergency services were at the scene.

The North East Ambulance Service sent a double crewed ambulance and transports one person Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary.

A NEAS spokeswoman said: "We were called at 10.49 this morning to a one vehicle road traffic incident on the A68 at Stocksfield. We dispatched a double crewed ambulance and transported one person to the Royal Victoria Infirmary."
