A motorist got 'creative' when it came to fixing their broken windscreen wipers. Shoelaces were used to operate the wipers manually operate the wipers - a 'dangerous' decision that left police officers less than impressed.

The driver also took things 'to another level' by getting behind the wheel with 'no licence or insurance'. Staffordshire's Road Crime Team shared a video of the wipers 'in action' on X on Saturday night (November 23).

Staffordshire Police has since shared the clip and said: "As creative as it appears to use shoelaces to manually operate your broken wipers, it isn’t acceptable! The lack of licence and insurance takes matters to another level."
