A spokesperson for Amey said: “Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking an essential bridge expansion joint replacement on the A76 Auchinleck Bypass at Barony Road, from Monday, January 27 until Saturday, February 1 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each weekday.

“This work will require a total closure of the northbound and southbound A76 carriageways between Templeton Roundabout and Dettingen Roundabout.

“Southbound traffic will be diverted via the B7083 to New Bridge Street and Ayr Road to re-join the A76 at Dettingen Roundabout.

“Northbound traffic will take the above diversion in reverse.

“Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

“Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

“This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and safety of the carriageway structures and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.”
