People have dubbed it "perfection" and say the experience of making it was "delightful". The cook said: "Soup season is almost here and broccoli cheddar is one of the best. Topped with crispy bacon bits and served with crunchy, buttered bread - so delicious!"
Ingredients for broccoli cheddar soup
One white onion
Five to six cloves of garlic
Olive oil
Three tablespoons of butter
Salt
Pepper
Onion and garlic powder
1/4 cup of flower
Four cups of chicken broth
1/2 cup of reduced fat milk
1/2 cup of half and half milk
Two cups of cheddar cheese
Broccoli
Shredded carrots
Bacon
Toasted and buttered French bread.
Step-by-step method
The social media chef began by dicing a white onion and garlic cloves. Next she chopped up some broccoli finely.
Now, you need to add olive oil into a pan as well as three slabs of butter. Once warmed, add in your onion, pepper, onion and garlic powder and salt. Mix together and let the onions brown slightly before adding in the garlic cloves.
Add the flour and stir until thick paste is formed. While stirring the pot, add in your chicken broth slowly. Put a lid on the pan and let the mix simmer for a few minutes.
Add in milk and one cup of cheddar cheese. Mix together before adding the second cup of cheese, salt and pepper. Stir well before adding in the chopped broccoli and carrot. Stir well before putting the lid back on the pan and letting it simmer for a few minutes.
In a separate pan fry your bacon. Once the soup is ready, serve in two medium sized bowls and add more cheese on top, as well as some bacon bits. Toast and butter some French bread before dipping into the dreamy dish.
