The screenwriter of IT is set to pen another scary tale, this time based on a classic Nickelodeon show.
Gary Dauberman will tackle an adaptation of 1990s kids' show Are You Afraid of the Dark? for the silver screen as his next project.
Of course, we expect big things given the immense success of IT, but he's got some good source material as Are You Afraid of the Dark? was pretty spooky.
The anthology series focuses on a different tale each episode, told around a campfire by teenagers who call themselves 'The Midnight Society.'
The stories involved aliens, vampires, witches, demons, ghosts and all sorts of other fantasy and horror-themed creatures.
"The show is about the shared experience of telling stories – especially scary ones," Dauberman told The Hollywood Reporter.
"We're going to celebrate that with this movie and honour the darker, scarier tone of the show, which was really groundbreaking for Nickelodeon at the time. I hope the Midnight Society approves."
The writer will also produce the project, which is being overseen by Paramount Pictures' Paramount Players.
The company is working on a number of projects based on Paramount properties such as Nickelodeon, MTV and Comedy Central.
It also looks like Dauberman could end up with an Oscar for his work on IT, as the movie is now in consideration for some little golden men.
