Fresh off his Oscar win for Bohemian Rhapsody, Rami Malek is due to return to the TV role he made his name in for one final outing.

The first teaser for Mr Robot's last season has dropped, as Malek's Elliot Alderson sits in a room as he's questioned on the consequences of his actions.

"I wonder how many people you've had to hurt to get what you want," he's told. "How many has it been, Elliot? How many people have had to suffer because of you? Was it worth it?"

It was confirmed last year that the upcoming fourth season of the USA Network/Amazon Prime show would be its last.

However, it seems that hacker Elliot and co will be going out with a bang as Malek has confirmed that the ending will be "very, very, climactic".

"[Christian Slater and I] both got a call from Sam Esmail, our director, executive producer, creator, and my mouth was agape after he told me how the season ended," he said.

"So, it's going to be a very, very, climactic ending to what I think has been four great seasons of television. This will be the fourth [season], and it's just been an honour to work with Christian and Sam, and play this character.

"I'm gonna miss Elliot quite a bit."

While details are under wraps, we do know that the final season will involve Elliot running from cops, and there will also be a cameo from Shameless star Emmy Rossum.

Mr Robot airs on USA Network in the US and on Amazon Prime Video in the UK.
