Michael Ball popped round to visit Mrs Brown last night, where their conversation took an unexpected – but still hilarious – turn.

The musical legend was a guest on the season finale of All Round To Mrs Brown's last night (April 30) and it wasn't long before he encountered the foul-mouthed nanny.

Sitting down in the kitchen, Agnes (Brendan O'Carroll) decided to have a talk with Michael. Or, more specifically, she decided to have THE talk.

Ball could be seen throwing some seriously uncomfortable facial contortions as he unwittingly intruded upon Mrs Brown's conversation with her son Mark about the birds and the bees.

During the discussion, Mark was wondering aloud how he would talk to his son Bono about sex when Michael made his ill-timed entrance.

Walking in with a pink gift, Agnes said: "Oh I know exactly who he is."

They started to discuss how to talk about sex, but Michael snorted with laughter and then struggled to get his words out.

"It's good if he does have the talk, I learnt most of what I know from my first girlfriend," said Michael before he was too red-faced to move on.

So naturally he followed Mrs Brown's advice and launched into a rendition of The Phantom of the Opera's 'Music of the Night' instead.

And let's just say we've never seen the Phantom use those hand gestures in that song before...

During the appearance, Ball also spoke about getting his start in musical theatre in 1984, and his big role in Les Misérables in 1986.

"Basically, everyone dies," Ball summaries, which is pretty apt.

"And that's just the audience," Mrs Brown quipped back.

Oh, Mrs Brown, we're going to miss you.

All Round to Mrs Brown's aired on BBC One.
