Fans of Mrs Hinch have revealed their top tip for eradicating mould from washing machine seals.

The issue with washing machine seals is they offer the perfect conditions for mould to thrive due to being warm and moist, often left idle for extended periods. Additionally, while running washes at lower temperatures is eco-friendlier, it can lead to mould accumulation over time.

Using enzyme-based detergents or keeping the washing machine door shut when not in use also adds to the potential for mould growth. Cleaning mould from washing machine seals may be a headache, but Mrs Hinch's fans claim there's an uncomplicated solution, reports the Express.

Carol Jenkins sought advice on the 'Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips' Facebook group: "Help please, what can I do to remove the awful stains/mould in the rubber seal of my washing machine? Tried so many products but nothing will clean completely! Thanks in advance."

HG Mould Remover Spray was one recommended solution. Lynda Dixon Gibson shared her recommendation alongside an image of HG Mould Remover Spray, saying: "Try this, it's brilliant. Spray on, leave for 45 minutes, rinse off, and repeat if necessary. Wear gloves when using. Can be bought from Tesco, Morrisons and BandQ."

Carrie Glew concurred, responding: "This! ! ! ! ! ". Retailers such as Asda and Tesco stock HG Mould Remover Spray at £5.25, and BandQ offers it for £6.50, with availability online and in stores.

HG mould spray is described as a solution that "immediately and effortlessly eliminates all moulds, making filthy black stains disappear, inside and outside". On Tesco's website, the product has garnered a 4.8-star rating, with some reviewers calling it "absolutely fabulous".

One customer raved: "I've tried so many different products to get rid of the black mould in the bathroom, none have worked. This does! ! Left it for 30 mins as directed and when I walked back in I was shocked it had all gone! Just be sure to open all windows and use in the morning as it is strong smelling."

Another reviewer wrote: "You don't even have to wait 30 minutes for it to work. It does the job in seconds. It's worth every penny spent."

However, some users were unimpressed, saying: "Bleach whitens the black mould but that is all it does. White vinegar is the best way to Kill the mould and its roots."

Other mould-fighting products recommended by Mrs Hinch fans include Kilrock mould remover and Astonish mould and mildew spray. Sue Elliott suggested: "Kilrock mould remover. Home Bargains."
