Muamba's Career Might Not be Over

Muamba: My Recovery Is More Than A Miracle

Fabrice Muamba may be able to return to professional football - according to his manager at Bolton Wanderers.

Speaking at his first news conference since Muamba was discharged from hospital earlier this week, Owen Coyle said that - given the midfielder's commitment and fighting spirit - it wouldn't surprise him if he was able to resume his playing career.

Coyle pointed out, though, that it was important for Muamba to spend time as much time as possible with his girlfriend Shauna, and their son Joshua, while he continues his recovery.

Muamba suffered a cardiac arrest during Bolton's FA Cup quarter-final against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on 17th March. After receiving lengthy attention on the pitch from medical personnel - including a consultant cardiologist who was at the game as a fan, Muamba was taken to the specialist coronary care unit at the London Chest Hospital.

He spent 30 days in hospital before being released, and allowed to return home, on Monday of this week.
