A former Glasgow Times columnist will appear on The Weakest Link.

Dr Punam Krishan is set to feature on the popular game show on Boxing Day and will be joined by Fern Britton, Naga Munchetty, Owain Wyn Evans, Diarmuid Gavin and Mr Motivator.

Presented by Romesh Ranganathan after the departure of Anne Robinson, the game follows a team of contestants who must answer general knowledge questions within a time limit to create chains of correct answers.

At the end of each round, the players then vote one contestant, "the weakest link", out of the game.

The episode will air at 6.45pm on BBC One.

Dr Punam previously wrote a weekly column for the Glasgow Times for around two years, sharing her takes on the latest health news, insight from the perspective of frontline staff and advice on common health problems.

She shared her excitement ahead of the programme airing on social media, saying that it was "so much fun" to appear on the iconic show.
