Much-loved Bury pub to reopen with familiar face behind the bar
A much loved Bury pub will be reopening its doors after an extensive refurbishment. The Lamb on Tottington Road will be welcoming back punters next week on Thursday (August 22).
The pub closed earlier this year after the passing of its long-time landlord, Roger Elliott, who served the community for a decade. The pub is now under new management in the form of John and Louise Liotti, who are looking forward to welcoming customers, new and old.
The ale house has gone under an extensive makeover which includes all major sports broadcasts, occasional live music performances, the return of its traditional bi-weekly quiz hosted by resident quizmaster Luis McBriar. Bosses are also looking to reintroduce the pool and dart teams to represent the Lamb.

The community can also look forward to enjoying a selection of beers, wines, spirits and hot and cold soft drinks, both indoors and in the newly refurbished outdoor areas.
It's not all change at the pub, however. Lesley Snape, who has worked at The Lamb for 33 years, is eager to return to her role behind the bar and said: “I’m excited to get back to what I enjoy most—serving customers,”
Speaking about the news, Louise said: “We’re excited to meet everyone and hope they are as pleased as we are with the work & renovations that have been recently carried out at The Lamb giving it a fresh new look.”
To honour Roger Elliott's legacy, the Lamb has chosen Bury Hospice as its official charity. It also invites the local community to suggest ways to keep Roger’s memory alive while fundraising for the hospice.
