Mudslide leaves road near Dunster unsafe and closed until further notice
A road near the village of Dunster, in Somerset, has been closed for repairs after a landslip left a large hole in the Tarmac, making it unsafe for vehicles to pass. It will remain closed until repairs are carried out.
The road closure was announced by the account Travel Somerset this afternoon, Thursday, November 28: "Bonniton Lane near Dunster: Storms have caused a new collapse, making the lane unsuitable for vehicles. It's closed until repairs are done."
It comes as travel monitoring site, Inrix, has multiple reports of roads around Somerset being closed due to flooding, with some of these closures having been in place since the beginning of the week. For the latest flooding news in your area, visit our live blog here.

The latest closure was reported on Hendford Hill, near Yeovil, shortly after 4pm this afternoon, with Inrix reporting: "A30 Hendford Hill in both directions closed, queuing traffic due to emergency repairs from A37 Dorchester Road (Quicksilver roundabout) to A3088 (Horsey roundabout)."
This road closure remains in place as of 5.15pm. Other roads closed due to recent weather include Cuts Road, East Lyng; Langport Road, Muchelney, and New Road, North Curry. All are closed due to flooding.
