State Emergency Service crews rescued residents living in flooded parts of Beaudesert, west of Brisbane, early on Friday, March 31, as the region was lashed by heavy rainfall.

Andrew Jack, who filmed some of the rescue efforts, said several people and pets were brought to safety amid heavy flooding created by the remnants of former Tropical Cyclone Debbie.

According to the ABC, residents living in low-lying areas of south-east Queensland were told to evacuate, while some roads in and out of Beaudesert were closed. Credit: Instagram/Andrew Jack via Storyful
