Tributes have poured in for a loving mum of four who heartbreakingly died while holidaying in Egypt with her family. Liz Boardman died suddenly in the early hours of November 11 and has been described as having 'lived for her boys'.

The mum-of-four had just celebrated her 40th birthday and was described by loved ones as kind and funny, reports Manchester Evening News. Her body was repatriated to the UK on Firday November 15, and now her family are searching for answers in hope of discovering what caused her sudden and tragic death.

Michelle Lowe from Anfield who was a friend and colleague of Liz set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of Liz's funeral, the Liverpool ECHO reports. The GoFundMe page's statement also added they hope to use the proceedings "to help the boys as much as possible at this extremely sad and difficult time".

In a tribute to her friend, Michelle, 38, told the ECHO: "Liz was one of the funniest of people I had ever met in my life. She was a great storyteller. Liz was just a really fun person and she did live for them boys.

"It's been shock, I don't think it has hit me and it won't until I see her. Liz was very kind and was as a support worker through work. The service users all loved her."

Michelle wrote on the GoFundMe page: "This page is to help raise funds for funeral expenses, grave stone and to help the boys as much as possible at this extremely sad and difficult time. Liz was full of life and lived for her boys, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read as this has been very difficult to write."

A Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office spokesperson told the ECHO: “We are supporting the family of a British woman who died in Egypt."
