Mum who moved from UK to Spain says 'I can't believe it' over energy bills
A mum who relocated to Spain has told of her shock over her new energy bills. TikToker Jodie Marlow documents her life after moving to Spain with her children.
She recently opened up on her account @jodiemar1ow about the bills she has to pay. It seems there is a difference between the UK and Spain when it comes to how much it costs to run a household.
In the clip, she explained how the family does not have to pay rent or mortgage fees as they own their property. She went on to say the cost of electric is 'really good', telling how she recently changed suppliers.

Jodie said: "Oh my gosh, amazing. Last month, before I really put the aircon on, was €37 (£30.82). This month I've had the aircon on nearly every night for the boys and, I think when I tried to look quickly because it's not generated fully, it's around €55 to €60 (around £45.82), which I think is nothing.
"So, if anyone lives in Spain and pays their own electricity bills, you need to message me. I can't believe how cheap it's changed to."
She continued: "Water is around €99 (£82.47) every three months, so that's €33 (£27.49) every month. The house actually runs off a gas bottle. I thought it was really weird at first but, actually, it's pretty normal in Spain, and a gas bottle costs around €16 (£13.33)."
When it's hot, Jodie said many people do not have warm showers, which means that the hot water does not always get used, Manchester Evening News reports. She also does not use the gas hob often as she has an outside barbecue and uses an airfryer.
The gas bottle can probably last the family about three months, she said. Jodie said council tax works out at about €21 (£17.49) a month, while her home insurance comes in at a similar rate.
Hundreds of people have since viewed her clip and were shocked with the prices of her bills. One wrote: "60 Euros a month! We spend £40 per week for a four-bed house in England."
Another said: "Oh my god, your electric is so cheap. Ours is so much more!" A third wrote: "So cheap. My gas and electric is £250 together, and my council tax is like £180 a month."
