A co-host of a popular podcast has revealed why she thinks they have many Scouse fans. Lauren Adamson, 34, hosts the Nip Tuck podcast alongside Ashley Stobart.

The podcast boasts over 4m regular listeners. The two friends' honest, fun and completely unfiltered conversations about topics such as dating, being a mum and family life have struck a chord with many. Lauren, a mum of four, has become a leading 'mum-fluencer' in the fashion and beauty space, offering inspiration, tips, and a touch of glam to thousands of mothers.

Ashley meanwhile has recently launched her own beauty business called The Cosmetic Consult, a brand born from her obsession with skincare. The two mums have now partnered with Liverpool-based marketing firm We Are Social Nation, and plan to host the podcast’s Christmas party in Liverpool this year.

Speaking to the ECHO about how the podcast started, Lauren said: “Ashely and I have done podcasts for three years but it’s only taken off in the last year. We worked together in cosmetic surgery. The podcast really started with us talking about cosmetic surgery. A lot of celebrities didn't admit to the work they had done.

“It made women generally feel less confident when it came to speaking about the subject. We wanted to be really honest about work we had done. From there, it grew and grew. Then we started talking about sex, relationships, kids and other funny stories. Ashley and I are like sisters.

Lauren is from Rossendale in Lancashire while Ashley hails from Knutsford in Cheshire. Despite this, Lauren says most of their listeners are from Liverpool, and the two friends have relished speaking to their Scouse fanbase over the years. She said: “Scouse women, and men I'm sure, they are just everything that Nip Tuck is about.

“They are unapologetic about who they are, they are honest and they’re not unashamed about that. We had a look at some of the figures. We’ve released a huge percentage of the listeners are from Liverpool. We absolutely love that.

“The thing with Scousers is that in general, they are very loyal. They've got your back forever. They are very loyal and team players. We held a brunch in July in London and loads of Scousers were there.”

Lauren has said they have faced sexist criticism from a minority for their podcast, but says this will not put an end to their future plans. She said: “I think being women in business is the biggest challenge for us. We do talk very honestly about ourselves and embarrassing moments.

“However in doing so, in being so open about our embarrassing moments, we are then opening ourselves to criticism, people Googling and seeing certain headlines. You’re put in a certain category. If you talk about cosmetic surgery, you're obsessive. If you don't, you’re a liar. But we are willing to push through that. We’re so grateful to all our Liverpool listeners for their support.”

We Are Social Nation along with Lauren and Ashley have many plans for their podcast store, starting with what is billed as the “ultimate girls Christmas party”. This will take place in Liverpool city centre, with a date and location to be confirmed. Lauren is delighted at what her and Ashley have achieved with Nip Tuck.

She said: “We feel incredibly lucky that we can talk to women and normalise things. We started as two friends having a chat. We’ve created a huge community. As women, we’re often put in a category. We’re trying to change that. You can be a mum but also enjoy cosmetic surgery. You can be a businesswoman but also have a laugh.”

Talking about its partnership with the podcast, Katherine Jones, the founder of We Are Social Nation, said: "My dream was always to build a bespoke talent agency that feels boutique and premium, but with a personal touch.

“What makes us stand out is that we work with influencers who have a real purpose and passion. Each of our clients is uniquely talented and driven, and we ensure they deliver real results. Ashley and Lauren embody everything we stand for—ambition, creativity, and fun. Our motto is ‘work hard, play hard,’ and these two are living proof of that.”

Some listeners believe they have a strong following because Liverpool female personalities are known for their confidence and charm, qualities that align with the podcast's bold and lively conversations.
