Two muggers attacked a mum and set her hair on fire as she pushed her baby in a buggy in Swindon.

Siobhan Regan, 24, who was also walking her dog at the time, was assaulted near Shaftesbury Lake between 10 am and 10.30 am on Tuesday.

The suspects initially asked her for a cigarette but when she said she didn’t smoke, one of the men grabbed hold of her hair and set it alight.

Ms Regan told ITV News in an interview one of the men laughed before slapping her in the face and taking her phone.

She suffered reddening to her face as a result of the attack and was also forced to cut off some of her burnt hair.

The baby was unharmed.

Ms Regan’s dad John posted a picture of his daughter’s injuries on Facebook and wrote: "My daughter has been attacked and mugged whilst out with my granddaughter in the last hour by two scruffy looking males in Shaftesbury Avenue, Walcot.

"They have set fire to her hair, punched her in the face and kicked her between the legs whilst she is holding a buggy with her baby daughter in it.”

Mr Rogan told Yahoo News UK they were not looking for revenge and just wanted the men caught.

He added: “It’s horrible what they have done to her.”
