Mum says children left 'terrified' after firework pushed through letterbox
A Leicestershire mum claimed her kids were left “terrified” after a firework was pushed through her family’s letterbox. Kerrian Bott, 34, said she was instantly woken up by what sounded like a “gunshot” when the firework was set off inside her house, in Mountsorrel, near Loughborough.
The mum-of-four claimed footage from her ring doorbell camera showed a man walking up to the house before appearing to knock on the door. Around ten minutes later, the video feed appears to show him striding up to the door before pushing the firework through and running off.
A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said the force was investigating the incident. It added no arrests had been made at this stage and inquiries continued.

Ms Bott said her children, aged between three and 14, were left “terrified” by what happened. She added it was “lucky” that the firework did not start a fire in the house.
She told LeicestershireLive: “As soon as I heard it, I instantly jumped up. I could smell something, a burning smell, it took me a minute to realise [it was a firework].
“I thought it was a roll of paper, the cardboard from inside a toilet roll. It was a bang, a really loud bang. It sounded like a gunshot.
“I was like what the hell is that? Luckily I have laminate flooring, so it didn’t start a fire. I have damage on the skirting, black marks, but nothing too much.”
She added the incident had left her “on edge”. A spokesperson for Leicestershire Police said: “The incident was reported to police at 1.30am yesterday morning (17 September) from a house in John Wesley Close.
“No injuries were reported, and the firework caused minor fire damage. No arrests have been made as our enquiries continue.”
