Residents in Mumbai, India, lined up to shop at the country's first 7-Eleven convenience store on Saturday 9 October. Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man according to Forbes, added 7-Eleven to his burgeoning Reliance Retail empire just days after troubled supermarket operator Future Retail Ltd. terminated its own agreement with the convenience store chain. The store opened in a Mumbai suburb. It will soon be followed by others opening in India’s financial hub, Reliance Retail said in a statement Thursday. Many products they offer will be localised to the Indian market.
