Mum's horror as she finds 'baby tarantula' on dad's doorstep
If you thought house spiders were bad enough, a woman in Leeds found what appears to be a 'baby tarantula' on her dad's doorstep.
Monique Wright was walking back to Whinmoor, Leeds via Baildon road after the school run when she decided to pop in to see her dad. Little did she know that this visit would be somewhat out-of-the-ordinary.
On arrival as her dad's house, she saw something crawling and furry on the ground. She stopped and took a second look to realised that it was a massive spider - or a baby tarantula.

"It wanted to scream and stand on it but I had my crocs on," Monique said. "I was scared it might jump on me, but it was walking so slowly I thought maybe a baby tarantula.
"I had my daughter with me, so she was looking at it amazed but scared.
"I just left it alive and walked away fast.
"It was just a bit smaller than the size of my palm but you could not miss it"
Posting on Leedsplace on Facebook, she shared what she spotted with residents of the town. Neighbours reacted with shock at the picture, with one even taking it as a sign to leave the UK.
Melanie James said: "This can not be real," to which Monique replied, "I wish it wasn't."
Kelsey Leigh Underwood also commented and said: "I'm moving away if this is what's in the UK." Abbie Ingleby wrrote: "They’re coming for us!"
However, some comments think it is a normal sized spider as Mark Pratt said: "It's a common Garden Spider. You can always tell by the cross it has on its back."
