Muppet Christmas Carol heading to Glasgow with special live orchestra showing
Festive favourite The Muppet Christmas Carol will be shown in Glasgow this December — accompanied by a live orchestra.
The heart warming show will be touring the UK this winter, with three Scottish dates announced. The 1992 film is well on its way to becoming a Christmas classic, thanks in no small part to the stellar performance of Sir Michael Caine, played completely seriously, surrounded by Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and the gang.
The film will be shown along with a live score at Glasgow's SEC Armadillo, on Monday, December 2, starting at 6pm. The show then moves on to Edinburgh's Usher Hall on December 4 before being shown in Aberdeen the following night.
The story features the Muppets in Charles Dickens' classic holiday story, A Christmas Carol , with Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchit, Robin the Frog as Tiny Tim, and Gonzo as Dickens-inspired narrator alongside his pal, Rizzo the Rat.

Where can I see The Muppet Christmas Carol live in Scotland?
The Muppets will visit three Scottish locations:
SEC Armadillo, Glasgow, Monday December 2, 6pm
Usher Hall, Edinburgh, Wednesday December 4, 7pm
P&J Live, Aberdeen, Thursday December 5, 6pm
Tickets range between roughly £35.50 and £60.20 depending on seats. Many of the performances already have limited availability, so you'll need to be quick.
The film also stars Fozzie Bear as Fozziwig and Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit When the grumpy Scrooge is visited by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future on Christmas Eve, they reveal his selfish ways.
Despite seeming beyond redemption and happiness, the kind and humble Bob Cratchit, his family, and the Spirits enlighten Scrooge to the true spirit of Christmas.
The original score was composed by Miles Goodman, known for his work on Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Little Shop of Horrors, with songs penned by Oscar-winning songwriter Paul Williams, who wrote "Rainbow Connection," and "Evergreen". The film, directed by Brian Henson – the son of Muppets creator Jim Henson – is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' 1843 classic Christmas tale.
With Gonzo serving as narrator – and a 'Muppetised' version of Dickens himself – The Muppets Christmas Carol also includes a series of original songs performed by its Muppet cast. Now over three decades old, the film has become a festive season staple for many and often features in lists of the best ever Christmas films.
