Murder investigation after man found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead in Haydock on Tuesday (October 29). Merseyside Police received a report at around 10.10pm that a 77-year-old man had been found dead.

The man, who was found dead inside a house on Clipsley Lane in Haydock, had a head injury, police said. A 33-year-old man, from Haydock, has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said: “This was a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life. An investigation is now underway, which is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has happened which has led to this tragic incident.”
