Second Arrest After Body Found By Thames

A second man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the discovery of a body near the River Thames.

Police found the body of the 21-year-old man on the foreshore of the Thames in Tower Hamlets on Wednesday.

A post-mortem examination uncovered evidence of head injuries, although the cause of death is yet to be determined, Scotland Yard said.

Detectives believe they know the identity of the deceased man, but have withheld formal identification while officers trace his next of kin.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of murder on Saturday. A second man, aged 42, was arrested on Sunday. Detectives are questioning them both on suspicion of murder.

They are being questioned by detectives.
