Murder probe after woman's body found in boot of a car on Essex border
A murder investigation is underway after the body of a young woman was found concealed within the boot of a car on the Essex border. A probe was launched by Northamptonshire Police after a concern for the welfare of a woman, 24, from Corby on Wednesday (November 13)
The force made fast-track enquiries which led to the discovery of a woman's body inside the boot of a vehicle on a residential road in Ilford. Northamptonshire Police are treating the death as suspicious and a murder probe has been launched.
Detectives believe this was a targeted incident and there is no wider risk to the public. A senior cop said despite this there will be extra patrols in Corby in the coming days "for reassurance purposes".
