Murdered police officer Keith Palmer laid to rest in London

The funeral of murdered police officer PC Keith Palmer has taken place in London.

Thousands of his colleagues lined the route of a funeral cortege,starting at the Palace of Westminster.

PC Palmer leaves a wife and five-year-old daughter.

He was stabbed to death by Khalid Masood as he attempted to prevent the killer entering the Houses of Parliament.

Masood had already driven his vehicle into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge an was intent on continuing his killing spree.

Masood was shot by police.

Keith Palmer’s name has already been added to the National Police Memorial in London.

For those officers unable to attend a two-minute silence was observed outside police stations across the country.

Four people were killed in the terrorist attack and more than 50 injured.
