'Murderer' Sprayed on Central Park Statue of Christopher Columbus
The New York Police Department has released footage showing two people spray-painting the statue of Christopher Columbus in Central Park with the words “murderer” and “land back” on February 26.
The footage shows the pair at the base of the statue, which is surrounded by metal fencing.
The suspect in black gets to work on the far side of the plinth, where a local report showed the words “land back” were found.
The other, in orange, struggles to fit the word “murderer” on the front, with “murdere” seen facing the camera, and the “r” painted on the other side. Credit: NYPD Crime Stoppers via Storyful
