Mushroom and cannabis factory shut down after raid in Greenwich

An illegal cannabis and mushroom factory has been shut down by police after a raid in Greenwich Creekside.

Kidbrooke Park Police joined with Greenwich Creekside Police to execute the drug warrant at a flat at Gilbert House, McMillan Street on January 27.

Pictures from officers show that inside the building large tubs of mushrooms were found growing along with what appears to be bags of cannabis.

Around £7-8,000 in cash was seized, along with three large bags of cannabis and a significant quantity of suspected magic mushrooms.

Mushrooms, sometimes referred to as “magic mushrooms” or “shrooms” are a class A drug in the UK whereas Cannabis is classified as B.

A man was arrested during the raid and he has been bailed until March 10, 2023.

Kidbrooke Park Police tweeted: “Our officers joined forces with the Greenwich Creekside Team yesterday to execute a drug warrant. “A mushroom and cannabis factory! “One arrested.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police added: “The male was bailed until 10/03/2023 “£7-8,000 in cash was seized

“The warrant was located in Greenwich Creekside ward.

“Officers from Supporting Neighbourhood teams and Greenwich Integrated Enforcement Team “Worked together for the warrant. Lead team is Greenwich Creekside.”
