The Duchess of Sussex is set to be featured in her own musical. While we would be first in line to purchase tickets to the show, it’s not actually coming to Broadway or the West End. Instead, the radio musical will be airing on New Year’s day 2019, on BBC Radio, as part of a series called ‘15 Minute Musical’.

According to The Telegraph, the episode titled, “The Sixth in Line to Be King and I”, will be a Rodgers and Hammerstein-type comedy.

The piece will be an “inspired celebration of Meghan Markle's life to date”, and will be performed by the program's regular cast of Pippa Evans (who will play the duchess), Dave Lamb, and Richie Webb.

The tongue-in-cheek plot will also look ahead to what’s in store for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the coming year which, of course, will include the arrival of their first child.

The mini-musical may well get the royal seal of approval as Prince Charles is an avid BBC listener, so much so he is even going to be featured on the BBC Radio Christmas schedule.

He will make a guest appearance on Radio 3’s ‘Private Passions’, where he will be discussing the musical moments that have had an impact on him throughout his life.
