Last autumn, Myleene Klass bravely shared her experience of enduring four miscarriages before the birth of her youngest child, son Apollo, in 2019.
Now the presenter, 43, has revealed how that traumatic time has taught her to be more sensitive when it comes to discussing motherhood.
Speaking to The Sun's Fabulous magazine, she said: "People would say: ‘Oh well, at least you’ve got two children,’ or ‘You can always go again’ – everything that you don’t want to hear.
"It’s really made me think about how I speak as well. I don’t ever ask anybody if they’re planning a family, ever.
“You just don’t know if the woman you’re speaking to is pregnant or trying or whether she miscarried last night.”
In October, Klass – who also has two daughters, Ava, 13, and nine-year-old Hero – opened up in an Instagram post about baby loss, prompted by Chrissy Teigen’s announcement that she had miscarried in hospital after excessive bleeding during her pregnancy.
Of that moment, Klass said: "I want to be honest with my daughters so they know what’s going on with their bodies, because they need this information – it’s information that was never shared with me.
"I just hope that when my babies are having babies and if it doesn’t go as straightforwardly as they’d hope, women like myself have cleared a path for them. And that’s why I did it. Because I felt so lonely.”
In January, Klass told how one of her miscarriages had come during a radio show she was hosting.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s You magazine, the mother-of-three said she discovered she’d lost her baby during a brief toilet break while live on the air.
She said: “I was on air. I went to the loo while the music was playing and there was blood everywhere. I didn't know what to do. I had one hour left of my show.”
The former pop star said that she was able to continue presenting thanks to the support of fellow radio host Lauren Laverne, who fronts Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.
Klass said: “She said, 'Do one link, take a breath, come out and call me.' She got me through. I did the next link and called her. We counted the links.
“I would go out, sob and come back in, take a deep breath and speak.”
