Mystery after Bingo Loco sudden closure with visitors left confused and frustrated
Bingo-goers have been left confused after an event in Cheltenham ended earlier than they had expected. Visitors had arrived at Cheltenham Town Hall on Saturday, February 1, for a Bingo Loco event, but were left frustrated when the night ended early and the bar was closed at around 10pm.
One person who attended the event said the night was "going along nicely" and had been "really packed". However, at around 10pm, the visitors were "all asked to leave with no explanation or reason". Another posted to Facebook, adding that the music was stopped and "we just got kicked out".
Guests were left confused by the situation, with many taking to social media to share their frustration. Another added: "Yeah all a bit weird - I didn’t see any trouble, everyone having a good time, and then all got shut down ???"

One person told GloucestershireLive: "The night was going along nicely it was really packed though they had to add extra tables and chairs. Then all of sudden at 10 we was all asked to leave with no explanation or reason.
"They had closed the bar early as well. Which they charged £26 for 2 pints of cider and 2 pints of beer. So I wasn't too bothered about that lol".
Posting to Facebook, one person said: "OMG WTF just happened Cheltenham Town Hall …. We just got kicked out ?? We didn’t even get to start page 3 to win Stacey or the HOLIDAY!! Bingo Loco UK Bingo Loco …. No Explanation??? Music stopped, lights on and ‘Everyone Must Leave’."
Someone else added: "It was shocking.. we couldn't even hear what was being said.. we genuinely thought it was a joke for ages as we had no idea what was going on."
One person added that Bingo Loco, who run similar events up and down the country, has emailed customers following the early ending, but put the explanation down to ‘a technical issue at venue'.
A spokesperson for The Cheltenham Trust said: "The event at Cheltenham Town Hall on 1 February ended slightly earlier than scheduled due to operational considerations. The health and safety of our staff and members of the public is always our priority.
"We have procedures in place to mitigate risk, which were successfully followed. We remain committed to providing a positive experience for all attendees."
